Where To Find Free RV Dump Stations

It never failed…when needing an rv dump station, we could never find one. Of course, it seems we passed free rv dump stations at all other times. When we first started rving, we didn’t recognize how important these waste stations were…certainly you don’t want to tow the weight of full black and gray water tanks when on the highway.

As expected, the internet did provide lists of “free” dump stations…er…for a FEE! Honestly. Do we really need to pay to locate where to dump our waste tanks? Why not flush money down the toilet, too. Sorry…won’t pay for that.

The key to cheap rv living is being prepared, planning ahead. So the first rule of thumb is find a dump station location before you desperately need one. Also, don’t be lazy…if you plan to be in a rural area for an extended amount of time, where finding one can be tricky, dump contents prior to heading out into the uninhabited terrain.

As for the internet. The best, totally free site we use is rvdumps.com. They provide a nice list by state. Also, Travel America and Flying J gas stations, spread throughout the country, have free dump facilities. If you don’t use the internet (hey…how are you reading this post??), the truck stops have information of their locations you can keep in your rv.

Again, there are plenty of free rv dump stations across the USA but you need to plan ahead. Find their locations when you know you’ll be needing one. Happy Dumping!!

      Hi!
Depending on your state, first go to rvdumps.com as a great initial resource. Next, do an internet search of Flying J, Travel America, Loves and other “chain” truck/rv stops that offer free dumping. Many rest areas also offer free dump stations as well. Again, it depends on your unique rv travel plan and where in the USA you will be…will you be on the road a long time? will you be in one place? Sometimes free campground sites and/or city parks have dumping facilities as well. They are out there, you just need to plan ahead and chart where you will stop along your route, to take advantage of the free services. Hope this clarified for you…thanks for commenting!
