Cheap RV Living Update: Goodbyes, Bears, Turkeys And More

Well hey there everybody…time for a cheap rv living update from us, I’m thinkin’? My daughter just left this week and so I’ll fill you in on the past two weeks. Took a vacation myself from the computer because…well…do you really want to sit at a laptop when your daughter is visiting? Nope. Now it is catch up time!

Will be posting some more specifics, with pictures, a day at a time…because if I put it all in this post, you wouldn’t be too happy with the length! So for tonight, will just say “hey!” and give a brief recap.

My daughter reconnected with friends as if they’d just seen each other last month. It was awesome to see. She spent a LOT of her time camping, swimming at the beach at Lake Koocanusa and just catching up. The weather was sunny and hot the entire two weeks, so she got to spend time in the outdoors, as she’d hoped.

Also spent four days at my dad and Pat’s cabin (will post more on that later this week) in the middle of her trip. Jim and I squeaked in a gig at a private party as well – so we’re all worn out, to say the least.

Also saw two black bear cubs playing in the wild (yes, captured on camera, but on my daughter’s so hope she’ll send the pics to me soon), in addition to turkeys crossing the road. Isn’t that a riddle? Why did the turkeys cross the road? I’m here to report that it was absolutely simply to get to the other side.

So why DID the turkeys cross the road?

So why DID the turkeys cross the road?

Spot the cat was his usual self, as you can see:

But when my daughter had to leave, he refused to let her go…and she did the same:

After a fun-filled time, Amtrak’s Empire Builder struck again – arrived on time for departure but got to Illinois nearly 5 hours late. Then, and we all have to admit we had to laugh, she missed her short Amtrak trip the next day to Champaign, Illinois – stuck in hours of traffic in Chicago due to Lollapalooza being in town! Ended up taking Greyhound and my dad told her next time she should consider hitchhiking because it is probably faster. Poor thing!

She did make it home last night, safe and sound – so that’s our rv blog update for now, but will give more info on events these past two weeks in the next few days. Signing off!

Glad to hear you had a good visit, and are doing more gigs that don’t include bikers, mud wrestling or a crowd expecting songs to which they can sing along. Everything is coming up rosy, eh?

      Hey There!
So good to hear from you……….yes, visit was good…
We will “probably” have a week in your area, mid-October, so maybe we can all have a sing-along around a campfire? Hope so!
